The Sarasota Ballet appointed Christopher Hird as Education Director in July 2016. During his tenure, Hird has expanded the visibility of the Education Programs, and enhanced the Margaret Barbieri Conservatory, launching a new Trainee Program, as well as a summer exchange program with Canada’s National Ballet School and The Royal Danish Ballet.

Christopher Hird founded Dartmouth Films in 2008, to pioneer new ways of funding, producing and distributing documentaries. A former investment analyst in the City, he worked as a journalist on the Economist , Daily Mail , New Statesman and Sunday Times (as the editor of Insight ), before becoming a television reporter and producer.
Christopher Hird is the Artistic Coordinator of Boston Ballet School. Mr. Hird joined the school in 2003 and was appointed Assistant Principal, 2004, Artistic Coordinator, 2007.
