Richard Fall (3 April 1882 – January 1945) was an Austrian composer and conductor of Jewish descent. One of his most famous compositions is the popular Was machst du mit dem Knie lieber Hans.
Biography. b. Gewisch, Czechoslovakia. d. Auschwitz concentration camp, Poland. composer, conductor. Fall fled Germany in 1938 via France to Hollywood, where he had success in film music during the 1930s.
Richard Fall was born on 3 April 1882 in Gewitsch, Moravia, Austria-Hungary [now Jevicko, Czech Republic]. He was a composer, known for Merely Mary Ann (1931), Sehnsucht 202 (1932) and Melody of the Heart (1929). He died in 1945 in Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp, Oswiecim, Malopolskie, Poland.
