P. K. Sarangapani was a noted playwright and screenwriter of Malayalam, mostly known for writing stories based on Vadakkan pattukal of Malabar – the stories of brave warriors. He wrote maximum screenplays for Kunchacko's Udaya Studios in the golden era of Malayalam cinema, which gave emphasis on such historic themes onscreen.
