Alliance Atlantis and Vivafilm home video releases were manufactured and distributed by NBCUniversal's Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. Jun 28, 2024 · After the collapse of Alliance Atlantis in 2007, the movie distribution arm was re-launched as Alliance Films. On January 9, 2013, competing studio Entertainment One (now owned by Lionsgate Studios) acquired and folded Alliance Films.
The company operated both an English and French-Canadian division, the latter under the name "Alliance Atlantis Vivafilm" (formerly "Vivafilm Ltée"). Alliance Atlantis was acquired by Canwest and the private equity arm of Goldman Sachs in 2007.
