Roitfeld was born in Paris, France. Her father, Yakov Motelevich Roitfeld (in France – Jacques Roitfeld), was born in Belgorod-Dnestrovsky (Bessarabian province), one of five children (four brothers and a sister) in the family of the owner of the grocery and Moscow shop Motel Itsikovich Roitfeld.
Jacques Roitfeld was born on 19 January 1889 in Akkerman, Russian Empire [now Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Ukraine]. Jacques was a producer, known for Folies-Bergère (1956), Missione speciale Lady Chaplin (1966) and Charmants garçons (1957). Jacques died in 1999 in Paris, France.
