Mar 3, 2017 · Mack Phillips ( Sam Worthington) has managed to overcome a rough childhood marked by the cruelties of a drunken and abusive father (Derek Hamilton). He now has a happy life with wife Nan ( Radha Mitchell) and three kids, teenagers Kate ( Megan Charpentier) and Josh ( Gage Munroe ), and adorable moppet Missy (Amelie Eve).
Synopsis. A 13-year-old boy named Mackenzie "Mack" Phillips disembarks from a school bus and runs home. He is a farm boy in the Midwest USA. When he gets home, he sees his father abusing his mother. When Mack tries to defend her, his father turns on him. Mack's father is a church deacon and a closeted alcoholic.
