Radha ( Sanskrit: राधा, IAST: Rādhā ), also called Radhika, is a Hindu goddess and the chief consort of the god Krishna.
Radha, in Hinduism, the gopi (milkmaid) who became the beloved of the god Krishna during that period of his life when he lived among the gopas (cowherds) of Vrindavan. Radha was the wife of another gopa but was the dearest of Krishna’s consorts and his constant companion.
It is a not uncommon feature of Hinduism when worship of a pair rather than one personality constitutes worship of God, such is worship of Radha Krishna. Traditions worshiping Krishna, as svayam bhagavan, who is male, include reference and veneration to his Radha, who is worshiped as supreme.
Radha is often regarded as the incarnation of the Hindu goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth, prosperity, and spiritual abundance. By recognizing Radha as the embodiment of Lakshmi, devotees honor her as the supreme goddess and seek her blessings for material and spiritual fulfillment.
