Tata Starbucks Private Limited, formerly known as Tata Starbucks Limited, is a 50:50 joint venture coffee company, owned by Tata Consumer Products and Starbucks Corporation, that owns and operates Starbucks outlets in India.
Tata Starbucks arrived in India in October 2012, as a joint venture between Starbucks Coffee Company and Tata Consumer Products Limited. Since then, the brand has grown from strength to strength.
The brand partnered with Tata CLiQ Luxury (June 2021), Flipkart (October 2020) and Tata CLiQ (June 2022), to offer customers signature Starbucks merchandise. This supports the brand’s vision of offering customers more ways to engage with the brand across digital channels, thus strengthening its e-commerce presence across India.
Jan 9, 2024 · Mumbai, Jan 9 (PTI) Tata Starbucks on Tuesday announced that it will expand presence to 1,000 stores by 2028 from the present 390. The company, an equal joint venture between the Tata Group and the global coffee chain Starbucks, has plans to open a new store every three days and also enter tier-2 and tier-3 cities, an official statement said.
In 2023, Tata Starbucks opened its first two 24x7 stores in the country, in Chennai and Kozhikode, giving customers new ways to connect. Along the way, the company highlighted its mastery over coffee by setting up the first Starbucks Reserve store in India.
