The Nambudiri (Malayalam pronunciation: [n̪ɐmbuːd̪iɾi]), also transliterated as Nampoothiri, Nambūdiri, Namboodiri, Namboothiri and Nampūtiri, are a Malayali Brahmin caste, native to what is now the state of Kerala, India, where they constituted part of the traditional feudal elite.
Babu Namboothiri is an Indian film and TV actor, who is known for his work in the Malayalam film industry. He made his acting debut with the 1982 movie, Yagam. Over a career spanning more than 35 years, Babu has starred in more than 100 movies and been a part of various TV soaps.
