Many times the bezel is the same width as the case so it is a moot point, but in situations like Oris divers, where the case is notably wider than the bezel, the watch is stated as 44mm yet wears more like a 40-42mm due to the small bezel.

If you haven't made the change before then I would caution care as it's very easy to scratch your lugs when changing between bracelet and strap, which then requires a bit of work with a cape cod.
