One of the biggest questions the Prisoners ending leaves is why Holly Jones and her husband, prior to his disappearance, were kidnapping children in the first place. While Prisoners does answer this, the film's complex emotional story can allow certain aspects to become lost beneath the hard-hitting way the movie is presented.
