Can you temporarily disable any antivirus software and manually run the following file as an Administrator (right click, run as admin): Origin Games\Need for Speed Payback\__Installer\directx\redist\DXSETUP.exe. You could also do the same with the three vcredist files too.

Dude we are not in the 90s anymore, yes split screen was popular in the orginal NFS games in mid 90s. But that was because we had bad internet at that time, nowadays we have much stronger internet connection. Plus NFS is not about Curcuit tracks anymore like we where used too in the old games, son split screen arent as practical anymore.
@EstoniaNumberOne. Hey man. If you have the issue where it says something about the cloud saves and then for 2 seconds NFS Payback process appears in task manager, then the solution is simple (works for most people, but not for everyone).
