  1. While levels.fyi salaries are higher than market average, since people from big tech and successful startups are more willing to share their salary, it doesn’t mean, that you shouldn’t aim for above average salary. You should ask as much as possible, negotiate and match desired salary with your skills, experience and expectations from ...

  2. Aug 10, 2021 · Generally, I think the LEVELS FYI site is less reliable than StackOverflow, which invests a lot of money in its annual survey. However, many ML professionals have a master's or doctoral degree in computer science or a related area. There is a severe shortage compared to ML demand today. What justify their highest compensations packages.

  3. Dec 30, 2021 · Google and Amazon have not been in the top-paying list for many years now, except for the highest levels (L7+) This is [recently] wrong. Amazon significantly increased L5 (SDE2 at Amazon and L4 at Meta/Google) bands Q4 2021. This isn't captured in the Levels whole year report since it only started Q4 and it's only for external candidates.

  4. May 19, 2022 · I got fairly far in the process with PromoteIQ about 2 years ago and their offer seemed higher than the Microsoft levels.fyi for the same city. I know LinkedIn pays well too and I've seen coworkers at my current company leave for the same level there. But, I don't have a comprehensive list sorry. I would have assumed Github paid more too

  5. Also, levels.fyi can have some data that is outright wrong (the site doesn't necessarily check the offer) or have a number after the stock price boomed from initial signing (because people like to show off. If at offer share price was $5 and today it's $10, the offer was never that TC).

  6. May 3, 2022 · Unfortunately levels.fyi only has accurate data for bigger companies (although it's improving). Glassdoor is just straight up wrong for many companies. EDIT: Fun fact, the creators of Level.fyi created that website because they were frustrated with the other salary information sites that had poor usability and/or inaccurate data with no other ...

  7. Hi All, Co-Founder of Levels.fyi here. Very excited to share that Levels.fyi finally supports INR along with many other currencies natively. We've officially expanded worldwide. See India Salaries here. You should automatically be shown data in INR if you are in India. If not, you can change the currency on the top right.

  8. Jan 31, 2022 · According to levels.fyi, the current highest paid software engineer working for Samsung is getting 1,812,000 in Bangalore, India. This is for someone who reported getting this with only two years of experience for a position that is more or less one step above new grad.

  9. Dec 20, 2020 · levels.fyi has already been a great resource for me, and I hope they go from strength to strength. There's of course going to be people trying to enter the field who get tunnel vision on the eye-popping compensation figures of a FAANG senior engineer and develop an unhealthy, inaccurate picture of the developer compensation distribution, though on the other hand I still see around me people who aren't grasping that, yes, you can make $500k as an IC in this industry.

  10. Jan 16, 2022 · There is nothing sensitive. Once you upload your data everyone can see it. No one knows who you are (unless your company has 5 devs in total). Levels is the most helpful source for cs salary estimation. Without the data on levels I would have lost a lot of $ during my previous negotiations.
