  1. Nov 2, 2018 · Personally, Hackerrank screens are absolute fucking garbage. You either give them a phone interview or you don't. I get it that it allows to screen a large number of candidates, but I have failed countless Hackerranks from shit companies who expect you to solve 3 Leetcode hards in 60 mins that I doubt it's a very good way of weeding candidates.

  2. Sep 8, 2020 · Aylup. • 4 yr. ago. In LeetCode, problems are straight forward (no flavor text) and usually test one specific algorithm. In HackerRank, problems are more ad hoc (not classical algorithms) and thus, often require you to combine multiple algorithms or use them in interesting ways. Use LeetCode to learn DS/A (discussion solutions are very helpful).

  3. Aug 18, 2017 · r/cscareerquestions. r/cscareerquestions. CSCareerQuestions protests in solidarity with the developers who made third party reddit apps. reddit's new API changes kill third party apps that offer accessibility features, mod tools, and other features not found in the first party app. More importantly however, the behavior of reddit leadership in ...

  4. So my own conclusion is that HackerRank is a great place to learn, not a great place to practice. Hacker rank is useful for problem solving skills that you need as a programmer. It makes you think about special problems, rather than generic "write a sorting algorithm" problems. Some employers find this very important.

  5. Jan 16, 2021 · You get to solve the same puzzle using the same structural and control-flow approach in several different languages. So if you're going for a python job you'll know how to do recursion, dynamic programming, simple string manipulation, etc. in python, but you'll get little of the module-handling or OO stuff, no communications code, etc. 2. devoxel.

  8. The problem with leetcode is you can literally watch python run at 100ms and be bottom 50%, then write the exact same algorithm in rust for a 0ms runtime and top 100%. The servers suck. I use Hackerrank to learn, but need to start using Leetcode. I like to use HackerRank to practice data structures and algorithms.

  9. Apr 19, 2023 · HackerRank and LeetCode both have vastly improved their SQL content recently. But it's still mostly rote syntax that you'll learn. What you really want to do is test job interview questions (Stratascratch and Datalemur, the owner of the latter hangs out in this sub).
