Gypsy-Rose Alcida Blanchard-Anderson (née Blanchard; born July 27, 1991) is an American convicted murderer. She rose to worldwide prominence when she was convicted of second-degree murder in Springfield, Missouri, for the death of her mother Dee Dee Blanchard, who had subjected Gypsy-Rose to lifelong physical, mental, and medical abuse.
The media revealed that Dee Dee had forced Gypsy-Rose Blanchard to pretend to have severe physical and mental disabilities for financial and social advantage, a condition known as factitious disorder imposed on another (FDIA).
