So if your DM considers a swallowed creature to be "gear" (unlikely), it would meld into the new form. Otherwise, Polymorph has no rules for this situation.

A dead creature can be used as an object, per RAW rules (see improvised weapons re; dead goblin), but when you use a Hoopak as a ranged weapon, it's still a melee weapon that's valid for any effects that target (or require) a melee weapon. ---> The stance that a creature can be treated as an object has supporting text.

If healing is unavailable, the creature can at least be stabilized so that it isn't killed by a failed death saving throw.
