A brute force attack occurs when cybercriminals try to guess and verify information such as passwords, credit card numbers and promo codes. Criminals can start with lists of potentially viable codes and common words, and work through different combinations of letters, numbers and symbols to break into accounts.

I checked in the Remote Access shield app in Avast Premium Security, and it is the same few IP addresses over and over again (see second image).

Never had this pop up before until then. File and printer sharing is turned off, I'm not on wifi, I'm not connected to a router, and my computer is the only device on the network.
