  1. Nov 1, 2019 · Really, the entire end of the film is a mixture of grief and elation that is an intoxicating as the best wines, and like wine it only gets better with age. The film, edited by Steve Rosenblum, is an example of prolonged build-up that will have made Sergio Leone proud. Not only does the first action sequence happen fourty minutes into the movie ...

  2. Dec 5, 2022 · Braveheart is a love story. For the love of freedom, for the love of country and self determination, for the love of a woman, for the love of a princess who stood by his side, betraying the future King she was wedded to. Braveheart is one of the most perfect revenge films AND romantic films in cinema. 3.

  3. ADMIN MOD. Hot take : Braveheart was self-aware about its inaccuracy. I liked Mel Gibson's "Braveheart" a lot. The story is good, the actors' performance are top-notch, the cinematography is brilliant, especially for the battle scenes, and James Horner did his best score for that film. However, I see a lot of people on the Internet complaining ...

  4. Oct 7, 2020 · The heavy cavalry charge is still breathtaking - a perfect combination of score, sound and images. The huge battle scenes with thousands of extras make the movie one giant last hurrah of a now lost spectacle. The raw grittiness of the images can't be matched by today's CGI. The movie does hold up perfectly well today.

  5. Jun 28, 2024 · Featured Characters: Mel Gibson as William Wallace (Braveheart) Catherine McCormack as Murron MacClannough. Angus Macfayden as Robert the Bruce (tagging u/Glittering_Squash495 because of our conversation about this character 6+ months ago) Sophie Marceau as Queen Isabella of France. My games are heavily modded (including multiple graphical mods ...

  6. Feb 9, 2012 · For instance, the crazy Irish guy in Braveheart (who saves Wallace's life in the woods) is basically repeated as a character in The Patriot (the guy with the weird chortle and ginger son who joints militia). Both characters are the same- outcasts with weird laughs and fighting skills. Both of the main characters are nationalistic heroes leading ...

  7. Jul 18, 2017 · In the humorous non-fictional historiography An Utterly Impartial History of Britain (2007), author John O'Farrell notes that Braveheart could not have been more historically inaccurate, even if a "Plasticine dog" had been inserted in the film and the title changed to William Wallace and Gromit. Hah. That'd be good one.

  8. Jan 13, 2019 · Most of us don't really care. It's a movie designed for an American audience to sell loads tickets. Although Braveheart is kind of annoying because it basically gets everything wrong. Like EVERYTHING. The Patriot is funny because it's so over-the-top that it's not even believable.

  9. I was never the one to watch movies, but now I'm trying to get started in this universe and would like to start with the "more important" ones. I'm doing a list (kinda like Captain America) and here's what I've got so far: The Matrix. Donnie Darko. Star Wars. Fight Club.

  10. Of course, with the movie being essentially a fairy tale, it was possible for Mel to create this larger-than-life tall tale version of Wallace. People often cite its historical inaccuracy, but the second half of that is that it's based on the poems of Blind Harry, a Scottish poet who turned Wallace into a legend.
