So Dan and Brian's family get down to their car as Brian stayed behind in the room to put things away. This is the first red flag in this story. As they open the trunk, Brian's father looks at Dan directly in the face and says "Good luck." Dan, thinking he meant with classes said thanks and grabbed a box. Boy was he wrong.

Life on the carnivorous island is basic survival which is a meaningless, unsatisfying life. Pi moves on to continue a spiritual journey because of this.

So it's a true story in the world of the story. I remember this was controversial because people didn't understand this. I think it's brilliant they did that because it's never been done before. At that time I think there were a lot of based on a true story adaptations so they were making fun of the unoriginality that exists in Hollywood.

It is almost certainly a lie or myth being spread around by people in an attempt to create an urban myth, legend, or creepypasta - similar in how some people have previously spread false rumours of K-On being based on a real story (and possibly claiming that the story ends tragically).

It can’t be a coincidence that she stopped getting letters that were clearly from Roger Kaplan and then all the sudden got letters from The Watcher thereafter. Let’s examine this as a crime: Motive, the biggest one.
makes sense, though. since this allegedly follows a real story, they have to make sure the player doesn't/can't diverge from the choices that the submitter made. Jack says (or can say, since it's an optional dialogue) that he was too freaked out to think of taking evidence. if the player was allowed to take a photo, it would stray from the plotline of the actual story and these dialogue options would render useless.
