Subodh Mukerji (14 April 1921 – 21 May 2005) was an Indian filmmaker (producer and director) of Hindi-language films. He was the brother of the leading producer-director Sashadhar Mukherjee. [1]
Subodh Mukherjee was a very popular film maker of Bollywood known for his blockbuster hits like Junglee, Sharmilee and Shagird. Though known as a master of comedy and energetic movies, he has also tried other genres of Hindi film making.
Subodh Mukherji was born on 14 April 1921 in Jhansi, United Provinces of Agra and Oudh, British India. He was a producer and director, known for Junglee (1961), April Fool (1964) and Abhinetri (1970). He died on 21 May 2005 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
Paying Guest is a 1957 Bollywood Romance drama film directed by Subodh Mukherjee. [1] The film stars Dev Anand and Nutan along with Shubha Khote. [2] The soundtrack, composed by Sachin Dev Burman, received a degree of popularity and made a lasting impression. The lyrics were written by Majrooh Sultanpuri.
