If spaces don't appear while typing in Word until you start typing the next word, you may have a "Section Break" at the end of the sentence you're typing. Dec 14, 2014 · Whenever I reopen the file, I always find spaces removed between words as shown in the attached screen shot. Each time it appears in different places. This is really serious as it is very difficult for long documents to read the whole document in order to scan such errors especially that most of them are not picked up by the auto-correct option.

In the Paragraph settings window, click the Line and Page Breaks tab. 4. On that tab, check the box to Keep lines together. The faulty text will close up.
You are displaying formatting marks. The periods you see are just formatting marks denoting spaces. They do not print. In the default toolbars there is a funny backward ¶ on a button. Click the button to stop displaying the formatting marks. CTRL+SHIFT+8 does the same thing, e.g. toggle the formatting marks on and off.
