Dave played guitar, drums, vocals and as Krist stated he played bass. Marigold was originally wrote by Grohl released solo, when it was originally known as “Color Pictures of a Marigold”. He released it under the name “Late!” in 1992. It was Grohls idea to re-record it, but it didn’t make the original album as an A-side.
Jul 21, 2023 · Grohl is a better drummer than Novoselic is a bassist, but Krist was more important to Kurt since they were best friends and practiced together non-stop. That’s really all that matters and his bass lines fit all the songs really well, it’s important to remember that Nirvana brought punk/grunge to the mainstream by utilizing pop melodies and Krists bass playing is fairly stripped back and simple.

Dec 20, 2021 · Never thought about mimicking his tone but,from what a remember, it's a pretty "regular" one to achieve. Maybe cut a lil bit hi frequencies. This may help a bit. Plenty of mids, use primarily that P pickup, pick nice and hard (you will need to use a pick) and honestly any distortion box you have will work great.

Unfortunately, Krist is a super centrist type of guy. Love his bass playing, but I wouldn't give him any real authority on politics. He's very politically unpolitical, probably the last Nirvana guy who's political opinion I would take seriously. As a Washingtonian, we would call him a Peninsula centrist.
Jan 31, 2021 · Then Krist tried to persuade Kurt to go on a trip with him and had cars back seat full of instruments. Kurt got in the car but wanted to buy food, but Krist noticed Kurt was trying to score drugs and the ended up wrestling and Kurt it Krist in the face and fleed.
Jun 3, 2020 · Krist (very unfortunately, since I'm a huge Nirvana fan and long-time appreciator of his voice and political activism) praised Trump for his speech that day, and (perhaps unwittingly) very foolishly placed himself in the cross-hairs of the kind of highly activated and reactive social activism that is a part of our current political and social climate- largely due as a response to the rise of Trumpism since the 2016 election.
