Karikala (Tamil: Karikāla Chōḻaṉ), often referred to as Karikala the Great, was a Tamil king of the Early Cholas of the Chola dynasty who ruled ancient Tamilakam (Modern day Tamil Nadu in Southern India) from Uraiyur.
