The Nursery Division is located in a landmark building on Manhattan ’s Upper East Side that was originally the carriage house of the Andrew Carnegie estate. The original three-story structure was renovated and expanded to six floors in 1961 and became the New York School for Nursery Years.
Tuition Schedule, 2024-2025 Academic Year. The tuition charge does not include Parent Association Dues of $85, an Activity Fee of $125, and a Facility Improvement fee of $950 for Nursery and Lower Division students and $1,150 for Middle and Upper Division Students. These fees are waived for recipients of Financial Aid.

The School’s founding fathers named the school after Horace Mann (1796-1859). Horace Mann was a lawyer who served in the Massachusetts State Legislature. He was the first Secretary of the Massachusetts Board of Education, a Member of the United States House of Representatives, and President of Antioch College.
