Jun 21, 2017 · So call your provider and ask the correct IP numbers of dns servers. Then configure connection with proper IP addresses. In my system it is simple as editing /etc/rc.d/rc.inte1.conf or launch the WICD and enter the IP numbers into the config tabs. To check these dns and nameserver IP's I only.

The problem lies on your system not properly configured to reach the service provider's "DNS Server". So call your provider and ask the correct IP numbers of dns servers. Then configure connection with proper IP addresses. In my system it is simple as editing /etc/rc.d/rc.inte1.conf or launch the WICD and enter the IP numbers into the config tabs.

DistroWatch has done an extensive review of Slackware 15. I'm not too pleased with the author's conclusions, but he is entitled to his opinion. Last edited by cwizardone; 02-13-2022 at 07:55 PM.
May 3, 2016 · If you have run Slackware v. 14.2 RC2 then you can experiment on it, in wait for the stable release. Just a matter of caution: if you are not on for testing then you better wait for the final stable release, not the release-candidate (RCx). Distrowatch has been online for many years.
Jul 25, 2009 · An increase in the ranking of Slackware on distrowatch is quite likely to be a side effect of more people searching for it with the imminent release of 13.0 and the recent news about the 64-bit version. Distrowatch is a good site that provides a valuable service for people wanting to learn about Linux.
Feb 17, 2018 · Distrowatch.com has a Distrowatch Project Ranking in which users rank distros with 10 being the highest and 1 being the lowest. There is a list of the distros with the highest average score which have at least ten votes. At this moment Slackware is leading MX Linux by just 0.01 average points. But, this could change quickly.
Apr 24, 2007 · Interessante, peccato manchi la classifica come in distrowatch, ma per le recensioni credo sia ottima, specialmente per le distro meno popolari e che spesso ingiustamente passano inosservate.
