Summaries. Raising her two daughters, Saritaji "Rekha" fears that history might repeat itself when both of them fall for the same guy. Some twenty years ago Sarita promised to raise her husband's love child (Shalu) together with their own daughter (Nimmi).
Dil Hai Tumhara Shalu falls in love with her employer's son Dev, but is forced to choose between her mother's love and Dev's love when her mother proposes the marriage of Shalu's elder sister with Dev. Problems worsen when she finds out the truth about her lineage.
