A comic actor in old man roles since his teens, Dunn achieved enduring fame as Lance Corporal Jones in Dad’s Army (1968-76). In a long career he also starred in Bootsie & Snudge (1960-63) and children’s series Grandad (1979-84), and in 1970 scored a number one hit also entitled Grandad.
