Buxton is a progressive boarding and day school situated in the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts, adjacent to Williams College and The Clark Art Museum. Academics. As a small progressive preparatory school we offer individualized and experiential learning. Our small classes and 4:1 student-to-faculty ratio encourage students to explore both traditional and unconventional areas of study, including college-level electives.
Beyond dedicated arts classes, we offer a range of arts activities that are central to life at the school. From seasonal plays, to chorus rehearsal, dance, orchestra, creative writing and drawing groups, we encourage students to continue creative pursuits beyond the classroom.
Being present is central to the ethos of our residential experience, where day-to-day life is built on relationships and community . We’re firm believers in the power of face-to-face conversation and life lived outside of a screen.
