IAT will consist of 60 questions, 15 questions each from Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. Total time for answering the test will be 180 minutes. Questions will be of multiple choice type with only one correct answer.

The level of physics questions in IAT is usually the same as in JEE Mains. Graph based questions are also naturally asked. Chemistry questions are generally the highest scoring because they are straightforward and concept-based. Inorganic and organic chemistry questions are slightly more difficult than physical chemistry.
