Nov 3, 2015 · India-born singer Reshma, famous for her folk songs and her powerful ringing voice, died in Lahore, Pakistan two years back. She was suffering from throat cancer and had been in coma for a month. Born around 1947 in Bikaner, Rajasthan in a nomadic Banjara community, she has sung for both Pakistan and Indian film industries and performed in India too. Her family had moved to Karachi, Pakistan after partition.
Reshma had three children, Umair (son), Sawan Ali (son), and Khadija (daughter).
