  1. B. G. Kher. Balasaheb Gangadhar Khare (24 August 1888 – 8 March 1957 [1] [2]) was an Indian politician who served as the prime minister of Bombay (1937–1939, 1946–1947) and the first chief minister (then called Premier [3]) of Bombay State (1947–1952).

  2. Role in Indias Independence movement. Inspired by Tilak and Gandhi, Kher joined the Indian freedom movement. He participated in the Non-Cooperation Movement (1920). He was arrested for his involvement in the Salt Satyagraha (1930) and Quit India Movement (1942).

The Commission’s report was examined by a Parliamentary committee under the chairmanship of Gobind Ballabh Pant.
