Vande Mātaram (Devanagari: वंदे मातरम् Bengali: বন্দে মাতরম্ Bônde Mātôrôm; transl. I praise you, Motherland) is a poem written in Pure Bengali by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in the 1870s.
