Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Bhopal is a constituent unit of NCERT, New Delhi. The Institute looks after teacher education and other educational requirements of the States of Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and UTs of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.

Regional Institute of Education, Mysore is one of the five institutions established by NCERT in 1963. The institute offers various Undergraduate, Postgraduate, PhD and diploma courses. It offers B.A B.Ed and B.Sc. B.Ed courses at undergraduate, M.Ed and M.Sc.Ed at postgraduate and PhD in Education, Psychology and Botany at doctorate level.
Currently we offer four year integrated teacher preparation programmes of BA.Ed and BSc.Ed. for preparing secondary school teachers in Science, Mathematics, English and Social Science. Six year integarted teacher preparation programme to prepare Higher Secondary School Teachers in Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics.
RIE, Mysore offers postgraduate level degree courses in education. The institute currently offers a M.Ed. program and three M.Sc. Ed. specializations (Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics). The basic eligibility criteria for admission to the M.Ed. program is a B.Ed. degree with 50% marks.

RIE Mysore provides its educational services to south Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana and union territories of Pondicherry and Lakshadweep.
The B.Ed. programme of RIE is in accordance with the norms and regulations of the two-year B.Ed Programme prescribed by the NCTE (2014). On successful completion of the programme, students are eligible for admission to Master Degree Programmes in Education in the University of Mysore and other Indian/Foreign Universities.
