Ariel University, formerly the College of Judea & Samaria (CJS), was established in 1982 as a branch of Bar-Ilan University in the city of Ariel in the northern West Bank. Ariel University’s origins can be traced back to 1982 when its predecessor college was established. The college was affiliated with Bar-Ilan University until 2004 when it gained independence.
