Julia Margaret Deakin is an English actress. She portrayed Daphne Andrews in House of Anubis for the first two seasons. Julia is married to the author/actor Michael Simkins. In one of her early roles she potrayed May Skinner on the show Oh, Doctor Beeching! She had a major role in a British sitcom called Side By Side as Stella Tulley. (1992-1993) She also had a role in the show Spaced (1999) as the character Marsha. Julia also made cameo apperances in the films Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.
Julia Deakin was born in Nuneaton and worked her way north to Yorkshire via Shropshire, the Potteries, Manchester and York to Huddersfield, where she began writing poems. The Half-Mile-High Club (2007) was a Poetry Business Competition winner and her full-length collections, Without a Dog (2008) and Eleven Wonders (2011) drew praise from nationally-renowned poets.
