Giles studied fashion journalism at Central Saint Martins before going to work at The Sunday Times in London, where he spent 15 years honing his skills in roles ranging from chief interviewer (he was the youngest person to ever hold this role) to feature writer to editing. He joined British Vogue in 2017 as Features Director, and had his role expanded in 2021 to also work more closely with the European editions.
