A Foreign Identification Number (FIN) is a unique 9-character alphanumeric serial code assigned to foreigners with Long-Term immigration passes in Singapore (e.g. Student's Pass, Long-Term Visit Pass, Employment Pass, Work Permit, etc.) issued by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) or the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
ICA mission:- We ensure that the movement of people,goods and conveyances through our checkpoints is legitimate and lawful. We administer and uphold our laws on immigration, citizenship and national registration fairly and effectively.
ICA is Singapore's first line of defence against potential terrorist threats by restricting the movement of security sensitive persons across international borders. ICA also works closely with other agencies such as the Police and ISD to prevent terrorist attacks from occurring in Singapore.
