  2. Apr 1, 2024 · On 01 April 2024, Dr. Onkar Sharma, Chief Labour Commissioner (C) of New Delhi, issued an order announcing the updated minimum wages for the Central region. Effective from this date, the rates of Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) have been revised based on the Average Consumer Price Index Number.

Matters concerning labor and its welfare come under the purview of, both, the state and central governments as per constitutional law, thereby resulting in multi-jurisdictional regulation.
