We have also encouraged and supported students with interests in developing their sport of choice including, swimming, orienteering, ice-hockey and canoeing to name a few. Sporting activities have always played a vital role in the life of St Kieran’s College. Participation is encouraged for all students in all years.
Subject Choice. Each year students in St Kieran’s College must make decisions regarding the subjects they wish to sit for their Junior and Leaving Certificate Examinations. These decisions are made towards the end of 1st Year and Transition Year respectively. Students will make their decisions in consultation with their teachers and parents.
1984. Due to a major restructure of Catholic education in Mount Isa, St Kieran’s Christian Brothers College closes and the school becomes the site of the new Mount Isa Catholic High School. This new co-educational high school combines the resources of St Kieran’s Christian Brothers College and San Jose Girls College.
St. Kieran’s College, Kilkenny. Student Choir. We are very fortunate here in St Kieran’s College to have excellent school choirs. These students contribute greatly to the liturgical life of the college providing wonderful music for the college masses; of which our College feast day on the 5th March must be the highlight.
