Sep 15, 1998 · Not bad John Woo-style action film. It's rather entertaining between the group of close-knit thieves and Vietnamese mobsters. Antonio Sabato Jr. did good in his action scenes including shooting guns, acrobatics and fighting.
I love Donnie Yen's LEGEND OF THE WOLF and it's a shame that the other films he directed feel comprised. HIGH VOLTAGE is Donnie's first unofficial directorial credit (He was the action director and is credited as co-director in some places) and it has all the ideas he would later explore more fully in proto-form: The rapid cutting, the expressionist action and the stylized lighting.
