It is a combination of both drama and comedy with the voices of Toni Collette, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Eric Bana. Jan 1, 2009 · Based on a real life penpal relationship, Mary and Max is done in a very strange and rather depressing style for stop motion animation. Being and adult, did have me raising my eyebrows more than once, so definitely not for children under the age of 15 at best, but good story, though I am sure lots of people might be offended because it is showing some of the darker sides of reality most people cant face or accept.
