Jasmine Guy was born in 1964 in Boston, Massachusetts. Her father, Reverend William Guy, is African-American and her mother, Jaye Rudolph, is Portugese. She was raised in Atlanta Georgia where she attended Northside High School and went on to study dance at Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York City.
