The Narendra Modi Stadium is commonly known as the Motera Stadium (as that is where it is located), and formerly the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium, and originally named Gujarat Stadium. The stadium was first constructed in 1983, and renovated in 2006. Between 2015 and 2020 the original stadium was demolished and completely rebuilt.
