About qBittorrent. The qBittorrent project aims to provide an open-source software alternative to µTorrent. Additionally, qBittorrent runs and provides the same features on all major platforms (FreeBSD, Linux, macOS, OS/2, Windows).
The macOS version is barely supported, because we don't have active macOS developers/contributors. The project is in need of macOS developers. If you are a macOS developer willing to help, just go to our bug tracker for a list of macOS related issues.

blackPanther OS. qBittorrent is officially shipped on blackPanther OS CD as the default Bittorrent client. RPM packages are available here. These packages are maintained by Charles Barcza. Debian. qBittorrent and libtorrent-rasterbar are now officially included in Debian.
QBittorent Mascot . qBittorrent was originally developed in March 2006 by Christophe Dumez, from the University of Technology of Belfort-Montbéliard (UTBM). It is currently developed by contributors worldwide and is funded through donations, led by Sledgehammer999 from Greece, who became project maintainer in June 2013. Along with the 4.0.0 release a new logo for the project was unveiled.
qBittorrent binary packages should be available in your distro's repositories. Both the qbittorrent (qBittorrent with GUI) and qbittorrent-nox ("no X", for headless server environments) packages should be available.. It is recommended to always use the latest version, and new issue reports should be filed against the latest stable version (or a more recent master commit) only. However, some distributions do not always provide the latest packages.
