Salma bint Amr. Shayba ibn Hāshim ( Arabic: شَيْبة بْن هاشِم; c. 497–578 ), better known as ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib, ( Arabic: عَبْد الْمُطَّلِب, lit. 'Servant of Muttalib ') was the fourth chief of the Quraysh tribal confederation and grandfather of the Islamic prophet Muhammad .
