Qala is a film that is so conflicted about its messaging that in spite of its good intentions to talk about mental health, it inadvertently first villanises it and doesn’t really work hard to humanise it. It also doesn’t help that Tripti Dimri and Khan’s son are so bad here that their characters lack the kind of girth you need to relate to.
