Mar 22, 2024 · Today, it is a legendary train operated by VIA Rail that links Pacific Central Station in Vancouver with Union Station in Toronto. Historically though, the name ‘the Canadian’ actually dates back to 1955, when Canada Pacific (CP) first introduced a transcontinental train between Montréal and Vancouver, and gave it ‘the Canadian’ name.
