Henri Serre Considering he headlined one of the seminal films of the French New Wave, Henri Serre is something of an enigma. He was spotted in a cabaret comedy duo by François Truffaut, who gave him a bit in the army romp "Tire-au-Flanc 62" before casting him as Jim in "Jules et Jim," because he resembled the author of the source novel, Henri-Pierre Roche.

Henri Serre (Sète, 26 de fevereiro de 1931 – Saint-Jean-du-Bruel, 9 de outubro de 2023) [1] foi um ator francês. Ator principalmente de teatro, ele trabalhou com grandes atrizes, como Jeanne Moreau e Romy Schneider .
For the cast, Truffaut chose Henri Serre because of his physical resemblance to Roche and Oskar Werner because of his work in Max Ophuls' Lola Montes (1955), one of Truffaut's favorite films. The film's real star, Jeanne Moreau, was not only a gifted actress but had earned a reputation for a certain fearlessness thanks to the sexually explicit love scene in Louis Malle's The Lovers (1958).
