Jun 29, 2016 · Enda Walsh achieved a measure of success in his native Ireland with his third play, Disco Pigs (Corcadorca Theatre Company, 1996), which launched the career of star actor Cillian Murphy; the play became a hit at the Dublin Theatre Festival, and was highly acclaimed at the 1997 Edinburgh Festival. The production subsequently transferred to the Bush Theatre in London and toured internationally.

Enda Walsh is a playwright and screenwriter who shot to fame when he won both the George Devine Award and the Stewart Parker Award in 1997 with his play Disco Pigs. In 2007 and 2008 Mr. Walsh won Fringe First Awards at two consecutive Edinburgh Festivals for his plays The Walworth Farce and The New Electric Ballroom.
