Navodaya Studio is an Indian film production house producing films in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Headquartered in Kerala State the studio was founded in 1976 by Maliampurackal Chacko Punnoose, who is also known by the name Navodaya Appachan. Shooting floors are located on the hills of Kakkanad in Kochi.
Appachan was into Bible hermeneutics in the beginning, though he burned it later. But Thasar moved away from the Advaita and Vedanta paradigm too soon. It was a missionary, Rev John Ratinam who helped him to set up the printing press from which he published his journals Tamilan and Dravida Pandian.

Navodaya Appachan was born on 6 February 1924 in Alappuzha, Kerala, India. He was a producer and director, known for Theekkadal (1980) , Thacholy Ambu (1978) and Mamangam (1979) . He died on 17 April 2012 in Kochi, Kerala, India.
